I got two desktop computers at work and finally found a working monitor. Went to set up the first one, and.... the monitor doesn’t recognize the graphics card, if there even is one. Something is rattling around in the case, so it’s probably toast. Plugged up the second one, and... hey, the monitor actually comes on!

“No hard drive detected.”

Well shit.

So yeah, I’m just mad that these people had the foresight to remove their hard drives and stuff before scrapping their computers. I just wanted a dedicated desktop for Cities Skylines and nothing else. It runs well on my laptop, but I wanna mod the hell out of it.

Assuming their modern, you can pick up a hard drive for not much if you don’t have to have things super speedy. We live in glorious times for cheap spinning disks that store all the data. A new 1 TB hard drive should run about $50.

Good question. They’re not terribly modern ( they ran Windows 7) but other than that, I have no clue off the top of my head.

What it a97 said. Or a cheap ssd. I just got a mushkin 250gb for $44 shipped to my door and very happy with its speeds. You’ll need a 2.5 to 3.5 bay adapter for the desktop

The rattle inside is probably just a screw from the old hard drive.

Does it have a win7 license sticker?
